Second Shot-

Second Shot Coffee is an East London café which seeks to tackle homelessness by providing jobs, support and a pay-it-forward system for food and hot drinks. The design was conceptually and technically challenging. We wanted something cool yet inclusive and we needed this small space to be fully flexible for different uses. This all had to be achieved on a small budget. My response was to use reclaimed materials, neatly mirroring the company aim of giving people and things a second shot. All the elements of the interior were carefully sourced: we used a sustainable cork flooring, various timber off cuts on the bar area and secondhand furniture found in local car boot sales to achieve a considered yet affordable scheme.
