Strawberry Hill
Family Home
My clients wanted to refurb the downstairs of their 1930's four bedroom home, to suit their needs as a family with growing teenage children. They wanted the kitchen to be social heart of the home, a place to be calm or social.
We opened the kitchen and dining areas into one large space and replaced the existing windows with larger, thin framed windows and sliding doors. The new sky lights and windows help to increase the amount of natural light. The built-in banquette seating gives warmth and comfort to the dining area which is now in use day and night.
The choice of materials were inspired by Strawberry Hill House, using hexagonal terracotta tiles and soft warm colours.
